FAQ

How often do new Pokemon cards release?

There is no set calendar for Pokémon TCG upcoming releases, but there are typically 3-4 full sets released each year. There are also typically a couple of special releases as well, meaning there is almost always something coming out in a month or two to keep the game fresh.

Are any cards going out of rotation?

Yes, this does happen! Any cards with “F” designation marks will no longer be playable in 2025 Standard Format. You can still use cards with “G” and “H” regulation marks. These designations can be found in the bottom left corner. Be sure not to confuse them with the rarity symbol, which is in the bottom right corner.

How many Pokémon cards exist?

While this number is constantly changing due to new releases, as of March 2025, there were over 17,000 unique Pokémon cards. This number includes every single card release since trading cards were first released in 1999.
