Hello and welcome to another episode of Searching Standard, where each and every week I look for new, innovative decks for you to play in Standard. This week, I'm looking at a deck that was recently featured on the YouTube channel of FlexDaddy. It features Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172, who can attack with no Energy attached for up to 300 damage. Let's get started by taking a look at the deck list.

Spicy Hisuian Electrode V FlexDaddy Bidoof 59 Bibarel 121 Radiant Hisuian Sneasler 123 Hisuian Electrode V 172 Paras 4 Parasect 5 Manaphy 41 Boss's Orders 154 Tool Scrapper 168 Ordinary Rod 171 PokéStop 68 Quick Ball 237 Windup Arm 170 Level Ball 129 Scoop Up Net 165 Cyllene 138 Spicy Seasoned Curry 151 Battle VIP Pass 225 Trekking Shoes 156 Gift Energy 171

Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172 is the main attacker in this deck. By using its Tantrum Blast attack, you'll deal 100 damage for each Special Condition affecting Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172. Since you won't want to rely on your opponent affecting your Pokemon with Special Conditions, you'll need to find ways to affect Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172 with your own Special Conditions. Spicy Seasoned Curry ASR 151 will help with this, making Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172 Burned. As you'll see, you will also be able to make Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172 Asleep, and having a copy of Windup Arm LOR 170 attached will allow Electrode V LOR 172 to attack as normal.

By evolving into Parasect LOR 5 while Electrode V LOR 172 is your Active Pokemon, you'll be able to make both Electrode V LOR 172 and your opponent's Active Pokemon Asleep and Poisoned. This is thanks to its Lethargy Spores Ability. Scoop Up Net RCL 165 can be used to replay Parasect LOR 5 if you need to reset those conditions.

As a means of drawing extra cards, this deck relies mainly on Bibarel BRS 121's Industrious Incisors Ability. This Ability allows you to draw cards until you have five cards in your hand, but only once per turn. It's a great way to replenish your hand after playing everything you can.

The last Pokemon in this deck have Abilities that might be very useful throughout the game. Since Parasect LOR 5's Lethargy Spores Ability makes your opponent's Active Pokemon Poisoned, getting Radiant Hisuian Sneasler LOR 123 can help you score a Knock Out easier. This is due to its Poison Peak Ability, which will put two additional damage counters on your opponent's Poisoned Pokemon. Manaphy BRS 41, on the other hand, is more about defense than offense. With Manaphy BRS 41 in play, its Wave Veil Ability will keep your Benched Pokemon safe from damage from any of your opponent's attacks.

To help you find the Pokemon you need, you have specific Item cards that can help. Battle VIP Pass FST 225 can only be played during your first turn of the game, but it can help you find any two Basic Pokemon from your deck to put onto your Bench. You can then use any copies you draw on future turns as your discard needed to play Quick Ball FST 237, which will also help you find Basic Pokemon. Finally, Level Ball BST 129 can be used to help find any Pokemon with 90 HP or less, which is just Bidoof PGO 59, Paras LOR 4, and Manaphy BRS 41.

PokéStop PGO 68 is a great Stadium to play that will help you find the Item cards from this deck. In the event that you put too many of your important Pokemon into your discard pile with PokéStop PGO 68, you'll be able to use Ordinary Rod SSH 171 to shuffle a pair of Pokemon back into your deck. Cyllene ASR 138 can also help you return up to two cards from your discard pile to your deck, if you get lucky with the coin flips. Remember that Cyllene ASR 138 doesn't shuffle those cards into your deck, but instead places those cards on top of your deck, where you can draw them right away.

Trekking Shoes ASR 156 is a great card to play that will help you find specific cards from your deck more quickly. You'll either put the top card from your deck into your hand, or put it into your discard pile and draw a card instead. Tool Scrapper RCL 168 is a defensive card that will be very important against certain decks. Other times, it might not be needed at all. For those times, it's another card that can be discarded when you need to discard a card.

Boss's Orders RCL 154 is an important Supporter, allowing you to choose any of your opponent's Benched Pokemon to become their Active Pokemon. You can get an easy Knock Out by playing Boss's Orders RCL 154. Gift Energy LOR 171 is included in this deck as a means of drawing extra cards. When the Pokemon it is attached to is Knocked Out from the damage from an opponent's attack, you'll draw cards until you have seven cards in your hand. While it won't normally be used for the Energy it provides, it can be a great way to draw additional cards without using up your Supporter for the turn.

Wrapping Up

Playing any deck that doesn't require any Energy is a lot of fun. You'll always be able to damage your opponent's Pokemon as long as you're able to affect Hisuian Electrode V LOR 172 with a Special Condition. That makes this deck a little challenging to play, but the rewards are worth the effort.

What do you think of this deck? Do you have any suggestions for improvements? Let me know by leaving a comment below. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in the Pokemon TCG. I'll see you then!
