Games Workshop Unveils New Projects at GAMA Trade Show
Games Workshop, the manufacturers behind Warhammer and The Hobbit Strategy Battle Game, announced their upcoming slate of titles at last week's GAMA Trade Show. As you'd expect, these games look like masterpieces.
The biggest announcement has to be the return of Warhammer 40K Kill Team. It's a skirmish game featuring squad-based combat and all the customization options we'd expect. I myself am most excited for the narrative campaigns, in which players carry out specific in-game story quests. In the official video trailer for the game, it appears some missions require players to "cause mayhem." Sounds fun.
But that's not all we learned from GAMA. We now know of two new Warhammer Underworlds warbands: Magore’s Fiends and the Farstriders. The former are described as "a hard-hitting pack of Khorne-worshipping Blood Warriors," while the latter "combine the stalwart durability of their kin in Steelheart’s Champions with the elite training and ranged wargear of the Vanguard Chambers."
In addition, the Van Saar faction of Necromunda is getting a facelift, complete with new gear and new weapons.
And forget March Madness. The talk of the sports world has to be about The Doom Lords, a new team entering the Blood Bowl. Apparently, they'd rather sacrifice opposing players to their Dark Gods than play the game. (I think I'd prefer to stay on the bench for that one.)
Lastly, the company also offered a cryptic preview for Idoneth Deepkin. Comparatively few details were offered on this product. Just "the time has nearly come for all to be revealed" and "they’re coming – get ready." More on that one as details come out.
It's an exciting time to be a fan of Games Workshop. Get hyped!
