Lorwyn: Eclipsed - What We've Seen So Far

We've officially gotten our first look at the Lorwyn: Eclipsed card list and products, including some exciting new Lorwyn Eclipsed spoilers! This set finally brings us back to the plane of Lorwyn, which players have been waiting for since the original set was released back in 2007. Historically, Lorwyn has featured a heavy focus on fantasy creature types like Elves, Elementals, Faeries, Treefolk, Kithkin, and more, and it looks like this new set will be no different.

In the past, we've also seen this plane focus on hybrid mana symbols, which we also know are making a significant return in the Lorwyn: Eclipsed card list. The original set introduced Planeswalkers to the game as a playable card type for the first time. While we haven't seen any new Planeswalker spoilers as of yet, we're sure to see at least one or two before the set officially releases on January 23rd, 2026!

Are you ready for some Lorwyn Eclipsed spoilers? Let’s dive in!

Preorders for Lorwyn: Eclipsed are live here right now!

Before we get into the new Lorwyn: Eclipsed card list we've seen, let's take a look at some of the products we'll be getting this winter. As we're pretty accustomed to by now, we'll be seeing Play Booster Boxes, Collector Booster Boxes, and Bundles available for Lorwyn: Eclipsed. These products all feature some incredible art, which really highlights the plane's fantasy theme.

This set will also see the return of pre-constructed, 100-card Commander Decks. Here, we can see the five-colored Dance of the Elements deck, which appears to focus on the Elemental creature type, with a subtheme of sacrifice and duplication. We can also see the Jund colored Black-Red-Green Blight Curse deck, which looks to be focused on giving creatures -1/-1, potentially suggesting the return of the Wither mechanic from the original Lorwyn block. Either way, both of these decks already look very interesting, especially since we don't get five colored precon decks every day!

Along with products we're already familiar with, Lorwyn: Eclipsed is also introducing two new product types to the game: Draft Night boxes and 60-card Theme Decks.

Draft Night boxes are a new, easy way to set up drafts with your friends! When you purchase a Draft Night Box, you’ll get everything you need for a Two-Pick draft for four players, including the necessary lands and tokens, as well as a Collector Booster that you can gift to the winner.

After the initial Lorwyn: Eclipsed Draft Night release, MTG plans to release this series for every one of their other tabletop sets in the next year.

What are Theme Decks?

Theme Decks are another new concept that comes out with the Lorwyn: Eclipsed card list. This is a 60-card prebuilt deck that’s designed around the Standard format! You may find that these decks remind you of the Event Decks from the original releases back in the day. We don’t know what’s included in this deck list, so we have no Lorwyn Eclipsed spoilers available here.

However, the Theme Decks don’t seem to include sideboards, so they may be more new-player focused. A few themes have already been released, including an Angel Deck and a Pirate Deck. We also know that we’ll be getting additional Theme Decks with the release of Secrets of Strixhaven later next year!

New Cards

Flip-Legends

Now that we've gotten the products out of the way, lets check out some of the new cards! Let's start by going over some of the exciting flip-legends we've seen so far. Ashling and Sygg will likely be making their return, as well as a potential cycle of two-color flip Gods. If Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn, is any indicator, this cycle could be extremely exciting!

Hybrid-Mana Mythic Rare Elementals

Alongside the flip-legends, it looks like we'll also be seeing a cycle of hybrid-mana mythic rare elementals. Since we've only seen these two so far, it's unclear whether we'll receive only five cards in this cycle or the full 10. Five cards currently seems to be the likely option.

Exciting New Cards and Old Fan Favorites

Bitterblossom is back, but this time it has flash and can attack! Alongside Bitterbloom Bearer, we've also seen a few other exciting rares and mythics from the set so far. Who knew Mutavault would also be making a return in this set, to some degree?

Shock Land Cycle

Here's what we've all been waiting for: the shock land cycle reprint is complete! These new versions of the iconic land staples feature some incredible art, showing the light and dark sides of the plane of Lorwyn (and Shadowmoor).

We're also getting two-sided, full-art versions! These variants of the shock lands really highlight the differences between the bright style of Lorwyn and the darkness of Shadowmoor.
