Challenger 2 (x5 plastic)

The third generation FV4034 Challenger 2 main battle tank (MBT) was designed by Vickers Defence Systems as a private venture major upgrade of the earlier Challenger 1 tank.

It gained the British Ministry of Defence’s interest and moved into the prototype stage quickly. The Challenger 2 has improved main armament in the form of the 120mm 55-calibre long L30A1 rifled tank gun, an improved derivative of the L11 gun used on the Chieftain and Challenger 1. The tank’s secondary armament consists of a 7.62mm L94A1 EX-34 chain-gun mounted coaxially, and a 7.62mm L37A2 (GPMG) machine-gun. The turret and hull are protected with second generation Chobham armour, also known as Dorchester.

A variety of appliqué armour upgrades, or combat armour modules (CAM), are available as needed. These may include explosive reactive armour and additional bar armour, as well as further composite armour blocks, depending on the requirements of the combat theatre.
