Hello and welcome to another episode of Searching Standard, where each and every week I look for new, innovative decks for you to play in Standard. This week, I'm looking at a deck that was recently featured on the YouTube channel of LittleDarkFury. It features Registeel ex ASC 145, a Pokémon capable of withstanding a lot of damage. Let's get started by taking a look at the deck list.

Registeel ex ASC 145 is the main attacker for this deck, but with its Protecting Steel attack requiring 4 Energy to use, you'll likely need a little help powering it up quickly. If you happen to have any Basic Metal Energy cards in your discard pile, you can spend a turn using Registeel ex ASC 145's Regi Charge attack to attach up to 2 of them to Registeel ex ASC 145. But as you'll see, there are other ways of accelerating your Energy attachment. Registeel ex ASC 145 starts off with a respectable 230 HP. By attaching a Bravery Charm PAL 173 to it, Registeel ex ASC 145 goes up to 280 HP. Since its Protecting Steel attack reduces the amount of damage by 50 that Registeel ex ASC 145 will take during your opponent's next turn, keeping those HP high won't be too difficult. Having a copy of Full Metal Lab TEF 148 helps with this by reducing the amount of damage Metal Type Pokémon take from attacks by 30 damage. Reducing the amount of damage taken from attacks by 80 is a huge benefit which should help you dominate your opponent.

I mentioned earlier that there were other ways to accelerate the amount of energy you have attached to your team. Metang TEF 114's Metal Maker Ability can give a big boost to the amount of Basic Metal Energy cards you have attached to your team. This is Metang TEF 114's main role, so try not to use it as an attacker if possible.

As backup attackers go, this deck has a few great ones. Genesect ex BLK 67's Protect Charge attack deals 150 damage while also preventing 30 damage it would take from your opponent's next attack. It also has the Metallic Signal Ability that is quite helpful in finding your Metal Type Evolution Pokémon. Regigigas PRE 86 is a terrific attacker against Tera Pokémon, but only so-so against non-Tera Pokémon. Finally, Mega Mawile ex MEG 94 has the Gobble Down attack which you can use to close out the game. Since the damage this attack deals is based on the number of Prize cards you've taken, it's best to hold Mega Mawile ex MEG 94 back until the late stages of the game.

Munkidori TWM 95 is included to help keep your tank, Registeel ex ASC 145, in the fight a little longer. By using Munkidori TWM 95's Adrena-Brain Ability, you can move damage from it to your opponent's team. If the damage is still piling up on Registeel ex ASC 145, use a Jumbo Ice Cream PFL 91 to remove 80 damage from it, provided that it has 3 or more attached Energy.

Since the main attacker in this deck is a Basic Pokémon, Nest Ball SVI 181 can be a great way to search one from your deck if you need it. It can also find any other Basic Pokémon as well if you already have a copy or two of Registeel ex ASC 145 in play. Buddy-Buddy Poffin TEF 144 is specifically included to help you find Beldum TEF 113 more easily. There is no other Pokémon that can be found with Buddy-Buddy Poffin TEF 144, so make sure to check your deck when you play it to see if all 4 copies are there, or if any of them are hidden amongst your Prize cards.

This next batch of Trainer cards all help you filter through your deck more quickly, finding what you need more easily and gaining card advantage over your opponent. Lillie's Determination ASC 192 has the ability to draw you the most cards, provided that you have 6 Prize cards remaining. Professor's Research PRE 122 can be a great way to discard some Basic Metal Type Energy cards while drawing a new hand of 7 cards. Iono PAL 185 forces both players to draw a new hand of cards based on how many Prize cards they have remaining, which can potentially be a severe setback to your opponent.

To make the most of your attacks, you can use Boss's Orders ASC 183 or Prime Catcher TEF 157 to choose which of your opponent's Benched Pokémon to move to their Active Spot. Choose something that you'll Knock Out easily and that will provide you with multiple Prize cards, if possible.

This last batch of Trainer cards are generally found in most decks, as they are great cards all around. Arven SVI 166 helps you find both an Item and a Pokémon Tool from within your deck. Getting both a Bravery Charm PAL 173 and a Jumbo Ice Cream PFL 91 can be so helpful, but other choices are certainly viable. As you've seen, there are many great Supporter cards in this deck. Playing Pokégear 3.0 BLK 84 helps you find a Supporter you're in need of more quickly. Finally, Super Rod PAL 188 offers you the means of reusing cards that have gone to your discard pile. You can shuffle back up to 3 Pokémon or Basic Energy, in any combination you choose.
Wrapping Up
Even though Registeel ex ASC 145 might not hit for the most damage, by being able to reduce the amount of damage taken by 80 points each turn, you'll certainly be able to outlast almost any opponent.
