Hello and welcome to another episode of Searching Standard, where each and every week I look for new, innovative decks for you to play in Standard. This week, I'm looking at a deck that was recently featured on the YouTube channel of LittleDarkFury. It features Dubwool V RCL 153, who can soak up a lot of damage, yet still attack very well. Let's get started by taking a look at the deck list.

Dubwool V LittleDarkFury Bidoof 120 Dubwool V 153 Dunsparce 207 Miltank 126 Bibarel 121 Manaphy 41 Radiant Greninja 46 Marnie 56 Ultra Ball 150 Pal Pad 172 Cheren's Care 134 Circhester Bath 150 Capacious Bucket 156 Escape Rope 125 Avery 130 Boss's Orders 132 Cape of Toughness 160 Hisuian Heavy Ball 146 Professor's Research 147 Quick Ball 179 Raihan 152 Air Balloon 156 Ordinary Rod 171 Melony 146 Powerful {C} Energy 176 Double Turbo Energy 151 Water Energy 93

Dubwool V RCL 153 is the main attacker in this deck. Thanks to its Soft Wool Ability, it will take 30 less damage from your opponent's attacks. Dubwool V RCL 153 also has the Revenge Blast attack, capable of dealing a maximum of 270 damage. The key is to keep attacking with Dubwool V RCL 153, again and again. Eventually your opponent will Knock Out some of your Pokemon, and you'll begin dealing massive amounts of damage with each attack. Cape of Toughness DAA 160 provides you with an additional 50 HP, and Circhester Bath VIV 150 will allow all Basic Pokemon to take 20 less damage from attacks, both yours and your opponents. Keep that in mind when you play this Stadium.

In order to consistently draw additional cards, this deck relies on the Industrious Incisors Ability of Bibarel BRS 121. With this Ability, you can draw cards until you have five cards in your hand, once per turn. This is a great way to draw additional cards without needing to rely on Supporters for help with this.

This group of Pokemon are all members of the supporting team. Dunsparce FST 207 has the Mysterious Nest Ability, which will remove any Weakness Colorless Type Pokemon in play have. Thanks to Manaphy BRS 41's Wave Veil Ability, your Benched Pokemon will be protected from any damage done by your opponent's attacks. Finally, Miltank ASR 126 can act as a wall if your opponent's team consists of a lot of Pokemon V. You'll be able to prevent all damage from Pokemon V with Miltank ASR 126's Miracle Body attack. It also acts as a backup attacker with its Rout attack.

In order to attack with Dubwool V RCL 153 as quickly as possible, you can rely on help from these two cards. With Radiant Greninja ASR 46's Concealed Cards Ability, you'll be able to draw two cards, but only if you discard an Energy from your hand first. Doing this will help set up playing Melony CRE 146, which will allow you to attach a Water Energy card from your discard pile to one of your Pokemon V (Dubwool V RCL 153). Doing this also allows you to draw three additional cards.

With Capacious Bucket RCL 156, you'll be able to search your deck for up to two Water Energy cards to put into your hand. This can help set up the one-two punch of Radiant Greninja ASR 46 followed by Melony CRE 146.

Every Pokemon deck needs a way to draw extra cards, so you can find what you need more quickly. Professor's Research BRS 147 helps with this by allowing you to draw seven new cards after discarding your current hand. When you play Raihan EVS 152, you'll be able to attach a Basic Energy from your discard pile to one of your Pokemon and search your deck for any card to put into your hand. The drawback is that you can only play Raihan EVS 152 on the turn after one of your Pokemon was Knocked Out. Finally, with Marnie CPA 56, you'll be able to mess with your opponent's plans by resetting their hand, and possibly make the amount of cards in it smaller as well.

This batch of cards all help you find the Pokemon you need. Quick Ball SSH 179 can be used to find any Basic Pokemon. Ultra Ball BRS 150 can put any Pokemon from your deck into your hand. Hisuian Heavy Ball ASR 146 allows you to search through your Prize cards and put one Basic Pokemon you find there into your hand, replacing it with Hisuian Heavy Ball ASR 146 as a new Prize card. Each of these cards will help ensure that you always have a copy of Dubwool V RCL 153 available as an attacker.

Another way to make sure that you have a copy of Dubwool V RCL 153 to attack with is by protecting it. When you play Cheren's Care BRS 134, you can put any Colorless Type Pokemon that has any damage counters on it back into your hand, along with all cards that are attached to it. This is a great way of saving Dubwool V RCL 153 from certain Knock Out. You can also save a Pokemon that's sure to be Knocked Out by moving it to your Bench with Escape Rope BST 125. Playing Escape Rope BST 125 will also force your opponent to switch their Active Pokemon with one from their Bench. Finally, when you play Boss's Orders BRS 132, you'll get to choose which Benched Pokemon will switch places with your opponent's Active pokemon. Use this to help set up an easy Knock Out.

Avery CRE 130 helps reduce the number of Pokemon your opponent has in play, limiting their choices. It also allows you to draw three cards, which is a nice benefit.

The last batch of cards in this deck are more general, all-purpose cards. Pal Pad SSH 172 can be used to shuffle back a pair of Supporter cards from your discard pile into your deck. This will allow you the chance to play those Supporters a second time. Air Balloon SSH 156 can be attached to a Pokemon to allow it to retreat easier, possibly for free. This will help ensure you can always have a powerful attacker in your Active Spot. Finally, Ordinary Rod SSH 171 offers you the chance to return a pair of Pokemon or a pair of Basic Energy from your discard pile back to your deck. Getting additional uses from a card allows you to run fewer copies of it in your deck.

Wrapping Up

Dubwool V RCL 153 is a double threat. It can both absorb a lot of damage, while also having the potential to deal out quite a bit in return. Playing this deck is challenging, because you'll want your opponent to take some of their Prize cards so you can deal extra damage, but not too many of them, which might make coming back more difficult. If balancing like this sounds fun to you, you should give this deck a try.

What do you think of this deck? Do you have any suggestions for improvements? Let me know by leaving a comment below. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in the Pokemon TCG. I'll see you then!
