MTG Star Trek Legality
The MTG Star Trek card list features selections from several different categories, including Star Trek (TRK), Commander Sets (TRC), and stardate sets (SDS). Each has unique legality considerations:

Star Trek (TRK) is legal in all formats.

Commander Sets (TRC) and stardate cards (SDS) are legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats.

SDS cards from Play Boosters are legal in Draft and Sealed formats, as well as any format their original variants are also legal.
Product Line Up
The Star Trek MTG release comes with all standard products, including some select bonus options. Here are the items currently available for pre-order at Flipside Gaming:

Play Booster Boxes: Ideal for drafting cards or building custom decks. You can expect a variety of common, uncommon, and rare options among the 14 cards.

Collector Booster Boxes: Usually feature 15 cards per pack, including rare or mythic quality cards, as well as additional foil cards.

Commander Decks: A pre-built 100-card deck based around a specific character; these options offer themed, balanced gameplay.

Collector’s Edition Commander Decks: Like normal Commander Decks, you’ll get a prebuilt selection of mana-balanced cards, but these have a special surge foil.

Regular Bundles: Bundles include multiple Play Booster decks with rare, common, and uncommon cards. You can also expect lands and traditional foil cards.

Beam Me Up Bundles: Come with several Play Boosters, a Collector Booster, and basic lands. Lands come in regular, full-art, traditional foil, and traditional full-art foil varieties.

Beginner Boxes: These products are designed to onboard new players to Magic: The Gathering. You’ll get tutorial decks, tokens, playmats, reference cards, and guidance tools.

Scene Boxes: There are two different Scene Boxes that feature six legendary creatures. Scene Boxes also come with Play Boosters and a display easel.

Draft Night Boxes: Ideal for a friends and family game night, each Draft Night Box comes with a self-contained, ready-to-play setup for up to four players.
While we don’t have the entire MTG Star Trek card list, most of these products will have a balanced mix of heavy hitters, basic lands, and support cards.
Commander Deck Breakdown
There will be four pre-built Commander Decks for the MTG Star Trek release. Each deck is built around a single iconic character. Here’s the breakdown:

Landing Party | Spock (Bant): This is a green/white/blue deck that is designed around Spock’s Federation ability word. The deck is all about a varied team that rewards you for having one of everything. For this MTG Star Trek card list, you get tons of non-Borg creatures and card draw capabilities to ensure a resilient deck.

Federation Fleet | Jean-Luc Picard (Jeskai): Featuring a new Spacecraft & Station mechanic, this white/blue/red deck has you charging up artifact starships with both counters and crew members to ramp your cards up into powerful threats. With so much power and protection, your flagship should survive a board wipe.

Klingon | Worf (Mardu): Aggressive and warrior-focused, this white/black/red deck is heavy on combat. You’ll be using equipment that helps to pressure your opponent early on in the game with sacrifice gameplay and efficient removal that keeps the pace fast.

We Are The Borg | Borg Queen (Esper): A deck with white/blue/black cards; this set is about using the Assimilate mechanic to take control of creatures from opponents' graveyards. Control and board presence are the big payoffs, as well as a defensive mechanism that prevents assimilated creatures from being eliminated by board wipes.

Promo Cards
Standout Features
The MTG Star Trek card list includes several perks unique to this release, such as signed cards, Klingon-language card variants, and LCARS frame treatments. The signed cards will come from seven iconic actors who had major roles throughout the franchise. Currently, William Shatner and Kate Mulgrew are confirmed. More will be revealed soon.
The Klingon card variants will be in the Klingon language, which makes them difficult to read but incredibly collectible. The only official Klingon reveal for now is General Chang, Cold Warrior.
LCARS Frame Treatments
Finally, the MTG Star Trek card list includes several with LCARS frame treatments to create a retro vibe, including Dr. Beverly Crusher, Captain Janeway, and some featured lands.
