What We Know So Far - Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Super Heroes

Magic’s next Universes Beyond crossover is bringing the Marvel Universe to the Multiverse. Wizards announced Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes earlier this year, and previews have just started rolling out. From Avengers and Thunderbolts to the Fantastic Four and Galactus himself, this set is already looking packed with iconic characters and big comic-book energy.

Here’s everything we know so far.

The Story: The Coming of Galactus

Wizards teased the set’s narrative by revealing The Coming of Galactus - suggesting that the Silver Age classic storyline may serve as the backbone of the set’s lore. It’s not yet clear how the full story will play out mechanically, but the reveal confirms that cosmic-level stakes are part of the experience.

We also saw Doom Reigns Supreme and Thunderbolts Conspiracy, hinting at political subplots and villain-driven strategies that may unfold alongside the main cosmic threat.

What We Still Don’t Know

Like any early spoiler season, there are major details still under wraps:

  • Full mechanics and keywords tied to Marvel’s abilities
  • Whether characters will appear in multiple power levels
  • How closely the set tracks storylines like World War Hulk or the Galactus Trilogy
  • Whether additional Commander decks are coming
  • The full list of characters included
  • Release timeline specifics
  • Collector product lineup

Given the scale of the partnership, it’s safe to assume preview season will be extensive.

With a blend of iconic characters, dramatic villain arcs, comic-accurate art treatments, and a massive cosmic storyline, Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes already looks like one of the most ambitious Universes Beyond sets to date.

If the early reveals are any indication, expect a set packed with flavor, powerful reprints, fan-favorite personalities, and plenty of collectible variants. And with Galactus looming over the narrative, this crossover is aiming for universe-shaking stakes.
