Story Arc Recap

Chandra battling the Echoverse version of Chandra

The Reality Fracture storyline begins after the conclusion of Secrets of Strixhaven. Jace Beleren’s mind has split in two, and the dominant fragment has taken control. This fragment, calling itself The Theorist, has stripped Jace of all empathy, compassion, and personality. He is responsible for the creation of the Echoverse. His friends invade the Echoverse, trying to save Jace from the mind of The Theorist. Their initial failure provides The Theorist with the knowledge he needs to merge the Echoverse with the Multiverse.

However, the tables eventually turn in the MTG Reality Fracture story, and Jace’s friends kill The Theorist, returning a spark of control to Jace before his death. Jace manages to pass his spark on to Tam, who uses her newfound power to offer the Echoverse to the titan, Emrakul. Emrakul feasts on the Echoverse, consuming it completely and saving the Multiverse.
