Viking Route
My valiant Vikings, I am Odin, your god, and I come to announce that the time of my end is near: The throne of Asgard must pass to Thor, my beloved son. However, his brother Loki, the God of Deceit, blinded by envy, seeks to unleash Ragnarök: The end of the Universe. To achieve his goal, Loki has corrupted the Valkyries and unleashed formidable monsters that are ravaging all the worlds of the Cosmos! You are the bravest and most valorous Vikings of all tribes, and to counter such wickedness, I need your help.
To defeat his powerful and monstrous creatures, you will need the Magic Stones, the Vegvisir, scattered across the various worlds. Retrieve the Magic Stones, defeat the enemies, and prevent Loki from unleashing Ragnarök! I bestow upon you the Skidbladnir, a magical longship capable of navigating the World’s Edge, and my three Ravens to influence the winds of destiny. But I also entrust you with my hope. Hope that you may find victory even if all seems lost. Hope that you may be the heroes the world needs.
Sail, oh heroes, towards treacherous seas; retrieve the Magic Stones, face legendary monsters, and defeat Loki in an epic final battle that will be remembered forever… Or the universe will be destroyed.
Viking Route is a cooperative game for 1 to 4 players with an ingenious compass-and-magnets movement mechanic. A group of heroes sails a magical Drakkar to the World’s Edge and beyond. Influenced by magical Ravens, sent by Odin to steer your course, and by the winds of Fate, the heroes will face powerful and monstrous creatures out of the Norse Mythos, fulfill challenging quests, and prepare for the final battle to avert Ragnarök.
The game is played on a beautiful three-dimensional Viking ship and a scenario board, where the Drakkar is represented by a compass. Multiple magnets (the Ravens and Wind) manipulated by the players to steer the course of their ship. Players must also manage the resources of the Drakkar and their hand of cards to confront opponents and achieve the goals of their quests.
As valiant Vikings, each with unique abilities, players collaborate to maneuver the Drakkar (tiller, sails, weapons), influence the Ravens and the Wind to move in the right direction, escape and fight the corrupted Valkyries and monstrous creatures in the various worlds of Norse Mythology and ultimately foil Ragnarök in an epic final battle against Loki!
Players win when they achieve the goal of the chosen scenario and are defeated if the Drakkar is completely damaged (sinks), a Viking loses their last life point, the Hourglass reaches the last space of the Time track, or if another specific defeat condition of the chosen scenario occurs.
